TM88, star producer and 808 Mafia affiliate, threw shots early February at the producers on Big Sean’s recently minted gold single, Bounce Back. The official lineup of producers listed on “Bounce Back”, includes lead production from Hitmaka (Yung Berg) with co-production by Smash David, Amaire Johnson and Metro Boomin.
According to TM’s tweet’s it appears his anger is geared towards the other producers on Bounce Back, except Metro (if you guys don’t know, Metro is also close 808 Mafia affiliate too), primarily about being snubbed credit on the hit song.
I felt this might be a good topic to delve into and there may be some merit to TM’s issue of being uncredited from the hit record.
Back in July, Juicy J dropped his mixtape “Lit In Ceylon“, which TM88 was featured heavily on production throughout the project. One particular placement, that basically has the same beat (drum sounds used in the drum pattern slightly changed) to Big Sean’s Bounce Back, is the song “Act” from Juicy, which he dropped a music video also in July. The song “Act”, is accredited to both TM88 and Smash David on Track 4 of the mixtape.
So interesting question is why is TM88’s name missing from the credits if the same beat they were credited for back on Juicy’s project? What was Yung Berg’s and others contribution? Unfortunately we may never know, as TM put it:
